​406 TurnKey (3 Month Min.) Puppies 

Turnkey puppies come home with up to date vaccinations, worming, & microchipped.   House broke, and well mannered.  All turnkey puppy prices include 3 hands on lessons with your puppy and trainer.  As well as FaceTime or phone calls with your trainer for a month to help with any additional training questions.   Each week your trainer will send you an update on how your puppy is doing with training, including a video or pictures.   The short list below of what your puppy will learn is below:

Training Method used at 406

During the time your puppy spends in training, emphasis will be placed on teaching your dog to understand how to live in harmony with its family, through every home life situation. Every puppy’s day starts with a long hike, a meal, and then training tasks for the rest of the day.  The curriculum includes accentuating the following ideals, boundaries, and rules:

  • The puppy needs to be respectful of the house, as well as, all of your belongings.  Toys, treats, and sticks are available for playtime, rewards, or puppy teething.  But all other objects are off limits for reward or play. Your puppy will have a crate and a separate bed.  All furniture or other bedding is off limits. 
  • We want to create an environment to foster and nurture a happy and playful dog.  However, playtime can not be all of the time; and the puppy needs to understand when it’s time to listen, lie down, and relax. 
  • Walks are supposed to be fun for both dog and human.  To achieve this, emphasis must be placed on learning to walk nicely on a leash, understanding how and when to heel, and cooperating with instant recall.
  • Your puppy will already love everyone it meets, but it also needs to learn to do so in a calm and respectful manner.  No jumping, whining, barking, or other unwanted behaviors will be tolerated when greeting humans or other animals. 
  • Going on adventures with your dog should be a joyous experience.  Therefore, the puppy needs to learn to be calm and laying down when traveling in a vehicle. The goal here is form a lasting connection for the puppy to create the habit of car=nap time.
  • A dog showing possessiveness over food or toys is an unacceptable trait that can too easily lead to aggression.  All playtime with other dogs is supervised and training teaches them that humans are the true owners possessing all of the puppy’s toys, bone, bedding, food, and otherwise. 
  • Nighttime is for sleeping and rest.  The puppy is not allowed to exhibit behavior potentially waking its owners during the night or in the morning.  A healthy amount of exercise and routine is the key here, and they will always get their morning walk and breakfast at a reasonable hour.  A crate will be used to help with the process of achieving potty training and discouraging any nighttime mischief.  Utilization of crate training is only for the first few months, until the puppy is well behaved enough and understands its role in the home. 

​In addition to these daily learning moments; your puppy will go on hikes in the mountains, be introduced to running alongside a bike (great for getting all of that puppy energy out), and frequent local feed/hardware stores and downtowns.  This will help introduce your puppy too busy environments and greetings other animals and people.  At the trainers home your puppy will live as a part of the family.  It will also have two older, calm and well mannered canine role models to snuggle with and look up to.
